About this Episode: A Guided JSJ Combination Meditation for Pregnancy
In today’s meditation, we practice a very simple JSJ self-care hold to release all the “trying to” and “efforting” of the day. Maybe we’re trying too hard to please other people or accomplish goals and to-dos. In this meditation, we simply let go of the mental chatter and feel enjoyment in the stillness and find peace in the present moment. This particular attitude (or emotion) of “trying to” and “efforting” is overlooked in today’s busy societies, because it is encouraged. But as my mentor reminds me, we are human beings, not human doings. We must take time to just simply be (watch the clouds roll by if you will). During pregnancy, we can experience excess mental stress and/or physical stress, and in my opinion, it’s because we are just doing too much. Pregnancy is a time to tune inward and give our bodies and babies what they are needing day by day. But in most societies, we run on clock rhythms rather than body awareness and need-based rhythms. This meditation helps us connect with ourselves and the growing baby inside. Enjoy today’s episode and easily let go of mental stress and physical tension.
