About this Episode: A Guided JSJ Combination Meditation for Pregnancy
This spontaneous guided JSJ (Jin Shin Jyutsu) meditation is great for reducing fatigue in pregnant women. This JSJ flow and self-help hold helps to boost energy levels and combat extreme tiredness (especially the fatigue felt during the first trimester). I practice the spleen function energy flow first and end with “a quickie hold” that helps support the fatigue flow. This flow I practiced helped relieve my overwhelming feelings of tiredness and fatigue. I was able to take a quick rest and then get on with the rest of my day — feeling good. This flow would also be a great flow to practice at night before you sleep as well. If your body is really needing sleep, it’s common to fall asleep when practicing this flow, wake up and finish the flow or just get ready to start your day. The spleen function energy flow is a revitalizing flow and helps combat feelings of anxiety, worry, and depression.
Note: There’s never a necessity to practice JSJ for a formal amount of time or length. If you practice half of a flow, great! One hold, great! A whole flow, great! 20 mins? Good! 3 mins? Good! 1 hour? Good! You get the point. With JSJ, there is a cumulative effect over time, and there’s no need for needing to practice a flow or hold for a specific duration at a time. Sometimes 2 mins a few times a day can be helpful (busy moms!), and other times, 20 min-60 min practices can be wonderful. There’s lots of wiggle room when practicing JSJ self-help.
